A proven expert in technology consulting, executive-level sales, and operational management, Mr. Jawanza Lamar leverages years of experience in the private sector toward his current position as a Solutions Consultant for Teradata Corporation. Since joining the company in 2006, Jawanza Lamar has quickly made his mark as a results-oriented leader capable of driving significant revenues through the strategic implementation of Teradata’s industry-leading data warehousing technologies. A 1995 graduate of the University of Alabama, Jawanza Lamar began his career in the technology industry as a Senior Systems Engineer for Nortel Networks. Showing considerable ability in this role, Jawanza Lamar soon progressed to the position of Senior Sales Engineer, responsible for developing project proposals valued at $14 million. Jawanza Lamar was next promoted to the position of Account Manager, contributing more than $200M in revenue by renegotiating contracts, implementing new technologies, and strategizing new brand applications for the company. Jawanza Lamar’s final position with Nortel was as Director of Sales for Optical/Data Products. In this role, Jawanza Lamar aggressively increased Nortel’s sales revenues by working directly with C-level executives from an array of industries in addressing their various technical needs. Demonstrating impressive ability in this senior-level role, Jawanza Lamar was responsible for a number of important accomplishments, including the successful negotiation and execution of a wide-reaching $250M contract. Outside of his impressive work with both Nortel and Teradata, Jawanza Lamar has also shown his considerable entrepreneurial savvy as a leading executive at two start-up companies related to professional motorcycle racing: Tracklaps Inc. and OuterXtremes Inc. Holding the positions of President of Technical Development and President, respectively, Jawanza Lamar successfully drove each company toward substantial profits in a relatively short period of time. Jawanza Lamar is a member of both the National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE) and the National Action Council for Minorities in Engineering (NACME). Outside of his professional interests, Jawanza Lamar enjoys practicing karate, snowboarding, and waterskiing. Jawanza Lamar also enjoys traveling and is an avid reader.
