An experienced businessman, coach, and athletics administrator, Jay Jacobs studied at Auburn University, where he graduated with undergraduate and Master’s degrees in Business Administration. A longtime fan of the university’s athletics program, Jacobs worked in nearly every area of the Auburn Athletics Department before being named Athletics Director in 2004.
Jacobs honed his financial expertise as the Senior Associate Athletics Director for Tigers Unlimited. From 2001 to 2005, Jacobs organized fundraising campaigns that resulted in over $60 million in gifts. In addition, Jacobs spearheaded a campaign worth over $90 million in capital, which stands as the largest financial campaign in the history of Auburn University Athletics.

As Director of Athletics, Jacobs has seized an active role in constructing new facilities and athletic initiatives at Auburn. Jacobs led efforts to construct a new basketball arena and practice facility in 2007, as well as renovations at Jordan-Hare Stadium, which included a $2.9-million high-definition scoreboard noteworthy for being the first of its kind in the Southeastern Conference.

Always striving to further Auburn University’s acclaimed athletics department, Jacobs has spent the past six years broadening the school’s athletic horizons even further with new facilities and programs.
