Dr. Jay Temkin spent the last eight years as a psychopharmacologist at Jay L Temkin, MD, MA, PA in Naples, Florida. With a wealth of experience in medication management and patient education, Jay Temkin has earned a reputation for excellence in his field. Previously, Jay Temkin held a number of roles as a psychiatrist at institutions in New York City. Jay Temkin was employed as an Attending Physician in Psychiatry at Jamaica Hospital and its satellite sites from 1997 to 1998. He also provided support and treatment for individuals whose family members were killed on American Airlines Flight 587 in 2001. In the days following the September 11th attacks, Jay Temkin was on site to treat rescue workers and organize mental health assistance. An alumnus of Benjamin Cardozo High School in Bayside, New York, Jay Temkin received his Bachelor of Arts in History from Queens College of the City University of New York, where he was a member of Pi Alpha Theta, the school’s History Honors Society. Jay Temkin also earned a Master of Arts in Biology from Queens College and attended The Universidad Autonoma de Guadalajara Escuela de Medicina in Jalisco, Mexico for his Doctor of Medicine Diploma. Jay Temkin consistently leverages his professional success in an effort to assist those in need. Dr. Temkin supports a variety of causes, including disaster relief for Haiti. Jay Temkin has also raised funds for the American Diabetes Association’s Bike-a-Thon.
