Jean's Status Updates

CEO Les "Entreprises M. Darbouze" inc.

Jean Conille’s philanthropic efforts and empowering business ethics make him the admired individual he is today.

He began his life in Haiti, where he played chess competitively; he entered into the National Chess Championship at the age of 7. Possessing an astounding memory and a systematic and orderly approach to problem solving, the young Jean Conille was propelled into high school graduation after skipping two grades by the age of 15. He finished his education in Montreal, Canada, then went on to study Physics Technology at College Andre Laurendeau. The sudden death of his mother led Jean away from the University and towards his first entrepreneurial adventure in a telecommunications company. As CEO of the company at the age of 19, Jean Conille decided to dedicate his business to his late mother, by naming it “Les Entreprises Marie Darbouze.” Although Jean was unable to complete his studies, he was awarded an Honorary Doctorate in Finance, from Cosmopolitan University. He also received the Leadership of Excellence Award, a community service award that he received from the Montreal Board of Trade.

Although Jean Conille quickly rose to the status of a millionaire by the age of 22, he still faced countless hardships; he was a young and successful black man, which had been perceived as unusual anywhere during the mid 80’s. Conille fought hard for social and racial equality, on all levels. He held his head high, despite the racial profiling and stereotyping he frequently encountered. Most recently, Jean created “The Jean Conille Foundation” to reach out to young and ethnic entrepreneurs and assist them in achieving their true goals. His mission: to educate the population on how much a minority can truly contribute to the Canadian society, stopping at nothing to gain the respect and equality they deserve.
