Many people in the Sacramento, California area know Jennifer Stathos not only by her nickname J-Stat, but also as a successful entrepreneur with her own swimming instruction enterprise. Jenny Stathos has been a competitive swimmer since the age of six and won high point and/or MVP in every age group. As it stands, she still holds high school records, and she won a gold medal in every event in the High School Meet of Champions. She is an all-around stellar athlete who was MVP of her High School Varsity Water Polo and Swimming Teams. In addition, she played high school basketball and won “All-Tourney.”

However, in her professional capacity as the owner and director of her own swimming instruction school Jennifer Stathos really excels. Jennifer is responsible for all of the business’ marketing, public relations, and operations. Much of her duties involve interfacing with parents and students and designing daily lesson plans with stated objectives. Jennifer’s business is more or less a one-person show, so she is in the water teaching students back-to-back 30-minute group lessons every weekday, all summer long. Beyond her teaching responsibilities, it is also Jennifer’s duty to maintain a clean pool that is heated, so kids are comfortable. To date, her performance has been excellent with the entire summer session regularly filling up within the first hour and a half on registration day.

Jennifer Stathos will graduate from Arizona State University in May 2009, where she currently pursues a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications and Journalism. Ms. Stathos is a member of Kappa Alpha Theta and has made the Dean’s List, consistently earning high academic honors. In her spare time, Jennifer enjoys reading, writing, community service, arts and crafts, exercising, wakeboarding, snowboarding, and spending time with her family.
