new to bigsight32, Miami Beach, FloridaBefore embarking on a successful law enforcement career, Jeremy Aguayo worked as a firefighter for the City of Auburn Hills in southeast Michigan. Jeremy Aguayo, a finance and liberal arts graduate of Oakland Community College in Auburn Hills, was certified as an engineer, pump technician, and medical liaison for the fire department. During his three years of employment with the Auburn Hills Fire Department, Aguayo held a number of responsibilities. Jeremy Aguayo performed regular code enforcement checks, pre-fire surveys, and building inspections to name a few. Jeremy Aguayo was also trained to operate a wide range of machinery and equipment, including fire engines and ladder trucks, all of which he inspected frequently and sometimes repaired to ensure proper working order. Jeremy Aguayo helped clean and maintain the fire station as well. In addition, Jeremy Aguayo worked regularly with the public in his position as a firefighter. Aguayo led educational tours of the fire station for community members and students and provided fire safety and prevention demonstrations. Jeremy Aguayo regularly issued burn permits and responded to requests for information from public officials and local citizens. Chosen as Firefighter of the Month numerous times during his service to the Fire Department, Jeremy Aguayo was also praised for his emergency assistance to others. On numerous occasions, emergency responder Jeremy Aguayo was commended for his heroics while saving distressed victims who may not have survived had it not been for his quick actions. In an effort to serve his community in additional capacities as a firefighter, Jeremy Aguayo became certified as an emergency medical technician, requiring him to take over 600 hours of emergency training courses. Jeremy Aguayo also graduated from courses designed to teach Federal Emergency Management Agency disaster response techniques, the use of automated external defibrillators (or AEDs), and emergency rescue extrication methods to remove individuals trapped or pinned in dangerous positions. In September 1999, Jeremy Aguayo left the Auburn Hills Fire Department to work for the Detroit Police Department as a Police Officer. In 2006, Aguayo moved to Fort Lauderdale, Florida, where he transitioned to a position as a Detective with the Fort Lauderdale Police Department. Jeremy Aguayo remained with the FLPD until 2009.
