A third-generation executive in the entertainment business
With more than 12 years of experience in the entertainment industry, Jeremy Geffen holds a position as President of Los Angeles-based Geffen Management Group. A graduate of the University of Southern California’s Lloyd Greif Center for Entrepreneurial Studies, Geffen started his career with the William Morris Agency, moving to the Endeavor Talent Agency’s motion picture literature department before entering the music industry. He assisted on Janet Jackson’s international 1998 tour before joining Shankman DeBlasio Melina Inc. in a music management and publishing position. Jeremy Geffen next served as General Manager with the Creative Management Group, taking day-to-day responsibility for artists such as Sisqó. He left the organization to form a partnership with Johnny Wright of WEG, handling the careers of Dream and Blaque as well as consulting with ex-Bee Gees front man Robin Gibb. Geffen established his own musician-focused management firm in 2002. As President of Jeremy Geffen Management (JGM), he focused on expanding the careers of influential rap and R&B artists and groups such as hitmaker J-Kwon, Eminem’s associates D12, and Oscar winners Three 6 Mafia. He also worked closely with TrackBoyz, a Grammy-nominated production team that produced hit tracks such as Nappy Roots’ “Po’ Folks” and Nelly’s “Air Force Ones.” Jeremy Geffen notably facilitated TrackBoyz Entertainment’s label and production deal with Island Def Jam, one of the initial signings by Antonio “L.A.” Reid when he took over Island Def Jam. Geffen also worked on the soundtracks of several major Hollywood productions, including DreamWorks Entertainment’s Shark Tales and Revolution Studios’ xXx. In 2005, JGM was acquired by Sanctuary Management, having achieved client album sales in excess of 50 million units. Jeremy Geffen continued in a Senior Vice President capacity for a year, managing D12’s career by advising on tours, publicity, and marketing, as well as interfacing with record labels and the radio industry. In 2006, Geffen formed Jeremy Geffen Entertainment, which he led until 2009. This extension of JGM allowed him to create an independent record label, establish a music publishing house, and expand artist representation capacities. Today, as President of Geffen Management Group, he manages and guides the careers of artists such as Ron Artest and ex-Spice Girl Mel B. He also manages teen singer/actor Jacob Latimore with Larry Rudolph, Britney Spears’ manager. Geffen is working on numerous television and film projects, including one with major studio backing in collaboration with Roddenberry Productions. In his free time, Geffen gives back to the community by delivering food to people in need with Project Angel Food.
