My professional interests are in Drug Rehabilitation. I have worked in this field for 3 years and am based in Birmingham, UK. Birmingham Drug Action Team advocates a “Shared Care” approach to Drug Work. This means that I work in conjuction with GPs (Community Doctors) at their Medical Centres and make decisions with regard to the treatment of patients jointly with their GP.

Before becoming a Drug Worker, I worked as an Events Manager for Charles Schwab Europe, with responsibility for the creative direction and operational management of all their UK and European events. This was a great experience for me, but when Charles Schwab Europe was bought out by Barclays, it was time for me to move on in a new direction and I’ve never regretted choosing the Social Care field and getting involved with Substance Misusers. My current work has a direct and positive impact on the community, on crime and on health and well-being and I feel very lucky to have such an influential and satisfying role.
