James Toya is a Managing Director of Finance for Credit Suisse in New York City. For nearly 18 years, Jim Toya served in a number of different roles at the international investment bank. In 1992, Jim Toya joined Credit Suisse as a specialist in Interest Rate Sales. In his role as an Interest Rate Sales specialist, Jim Toya dealt with a full spectrum of accounts, ranging from hedge funds to central banks. Jim Toya’s experience in the Interest Rate Sales sector prepared him for the next step in his career with Credit Suisse, providing him with the foundational understanding necessary to best serve Credit Suisse’s varied client base. Mr. Toya held his position in Interest Rate Sales for five years before transferring to Interest Rate trading. From 1998 to 2005, James Toya worked as a “market maker” on the United States Treasury Desk. The term market maker is used to describe an individual or company responsible for quoting both a buy and a sell price for a liquid assets or commodities. As a market maker, James Toya traded a number of different seats on the U.S. Treasury Desk. James Toya produced exceptional trading profits, establishing himself as a client-friendly business builder. In 2005, James Toya became Co-Head of U.S. Interest Rates at Credit Suisse. Mr. Toya’s group produced record revenues in 2009 and 2010. Based on his impressive career performance, James Toya has been a member of the Credit Suisse Fixed Income Operating Committee for the last five years.
