Since graduating from the Cornell University School of Hotel Administration in 1979, hospitality management professional Joel Feigenheimer has held positions as manager, owner, consultant, purchaser, and educator in the food services industry. Most recently, Feigenheimer has spent the last nine years as the Director of Corporate Purchasing for China Grill Management, Inc., based in Miami, Florida. During his time there, he has developed the entire purchasing department from the ground up using his previous experience running restaurants and creating policies for all purchasing programs for restaurants on two continents.

Joel Feigenheimer’s responsibility as a purchaser for the collection of fine dining establishments extends to the United States, United Kingdom, and Mexico. With locations in New York, Los Angeles, Miami, London, and many other major cities around the globe, Feigenheimer is responsible for over 25 restaurants, requiring his constant contact with various vendors and operating distributors. Since 2002, Joel Feigenheimer has transformed the previously nonexistent purchasing department into a profitable center for the company with responsibility for annual purchases of nearly $30 million. His marketing and support initiatives have also helped to fortify relationships with important vendor partners, a key strategy to the company’s future endeavors.

Prior to his time with China Grill, Joel Feigenheimer spent nearly 20 years operating The Cranberry Bog, the highest volume independent restaurant in upstate New York. As the owner of the restaurant, which specialized in seafood and prime beef, Feigenheimer utilized his previous restaurant experience, playing a vital role in the formation of the menu, the hiring and training of staff, and managing the customer service experience. The overall restaurant was met with critical acclaim, and Joel Feigenheimer soon expanded the restaurant’s offerings to include Bog Events, a country club catering facility with the capacity to serve up to 4,000 people. A crowning event for the organization occurred when it hosted the Professional Golfers’ Association’s charity Skins Game, which was attended by such premier players as Arnold Palmer and John Daly. Joel Feigenheimer currently resides in Boca Raton, Florida.
