John Guandolo, the Vice President of Strategic Planning and Execution at Strategic Engagement Group, Inc.,

John Guandolo acts as Vice President of Strategic Planning and Execution for Strategic Engagement Group, Inc. In this role, he trains leaders on how to respond to terrorist threats. Prior to embarking on his career, he attended the United States Naval Academy, earning a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering. John Guandolo served as Company Commander in the first semester of his senior year.

John Guandolo joined the Federal Bureau of Investigation in 1996 as a Special Agent for the Counterterrorism Division. During this time he participated in investigations, acted as a leader of a SWAT team, and was an Advanced Capability Medic. Starting in 2006, John Guandolo served as a Subject Matter Expert for the same division, where he created a new training course on topics related to Shariah law and the larger Islamic movement, an accomplishment the FBI’s Executive Assistant Director described as “groundbreaking.” John Guandolo is the recipient of the Defender of the Homeland Award, from Senators John Kyl and Joe Lieberman, and two Awards for Investigative Excellence from the U.S. Attorneys’ Offices.

In his role at Strategic Engagement Group, John Guandolo provides facts, analysis, and suggested courses of action for key leaders in the military, the National Guard, the intelligence community, and police forces across the country. He advises state and local government entities on credible security threats, especially on matters pertaining to Islamic extremism. In addition to his work at Strategic Engagement Group, John Guandolo co-wrote Shariah: The Threat To America: An Exercise In Competitive Analysis (Report of Team B II).

John Guandolo is a First Aid and CPR instructor for the American Red Cross and is a National Multiple Sclerosis Society supporter. A member of the Knights of Columbus and the Sovereign Military Order of Malta, he also serves as the Centennial Institute’s Strategic Threats Consultant and as a member of the Force Recon Association, Veterans of Foreign Wars, and The American Legion. In his leisure time, John Guandolo enjoys camping, running, and hiking.
