Transformational Therapist - Oakland, CA | John LoReOakland, CaliforniaJohn R. LoRé, Ph.D., a Transformational Therapist based in Oakland, California, for the past 20 years, currently focuses his energies on creating an organization called YogaSaves.org. The enterprise will encourage and teach the use of yoga practices for physical healing and spiritual benefits. As a longtime practitioner of hatha yoga and Siddha Yoga meditation, John LoRé plans to market an array of educational materials and health products under the YogaSaves brand to fund humanitarian and charitable initiatives. Following an auto accident in 1992 in which he fractured two cervical vertibrae, John LoRé turned to the practice of hatha yoga, pranayama (yogic breathing), meditation, and visualization to attempt to heal his chronic neck pain. Working with some of the nations finest yoga instructors and a cranial osteopath, Dr. LoRé became completely symptom free. Now, having found a higher level of health and well-being through a regular yoga practice, John LoRé routinely finds himself declaring, “yoga saves!” Originally educated in Western psychology and philosophy in his college and post-graduate training through the 1980s, and following his initiation into the Siddha Yoga tradition in 1988, John LoRé became increasingly drawn to alternative medical practices from the East, particularly India. After a decade of practicing in the world of Clinical Psychology, and having achieved certification as a Clinical Hypnotist, John R. LoRé, Ph.D. decided to study at the California College of Ayurveda in Grass Valley, California. John LoRé received his certification as a Clinical Ayurvedic Specialist in 1999. Concurrently, he continues his education in meditation and hatha yoga, the traditional foundation for nearly all yoga exercise, breathing, and mindfulness disciplines in the United States today. As Minister of Health of The Church of the Stumbling Shepherd, an organization he founded in Oakland, California, in 2010, John LoRé, Intuitive and Empath, adds many other sources of spiritual self-discipline and guidance from Eastern sources. These include readings from the I Ching: the Book of Changes, an ancient oracle associated with the Chinese philosophy of Taoism. John LoRé’s earlier credentials consist of a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy and Psychology from the University of California, Santa Cruz; a doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology from the Wright Institute in Berkeley, California; and a license from the Institute of HeartMath, where he studied the effects of presence, stress, and aging on human biopsychology and physiology.
