A graduate of Stephen F. Austin State University, John Richard Still leads the daily operations of the Still Financial Group in Nacogdoches, Texas. He received his license to sell insurance over 30 years ago. President of the family-operated firm since 1982, he works with individuals and families on financial planning. Mr. Still earned undergraduate and graduate degrees in business education and holds certifications in long-term care and as a Financial Services Specialist. Additionally, John Richard Still operates as a Life Underwriter Training Council Fellow and has earned membership to the Million Dollar Round Table.

John Richard Still began his career in financial planning with the New York Life Insurance Company. In his fifth year as a Detached Agent with NYLIC, he had a piece entitled “No Special Favors, No Pats on the Back” published in one of the firm’s publications. His article described his time as a detached agent, the transition to opening his own office, and advice for fellow agents.

John Richard Still assists clients with the development of monetary strategies. Most commonly, Mr. Still sells life insurance policies and advises his clients regarding their retirement plans. He also offers his clients information regarding estate conservation and charitable giving. His other responsibilities include sales of medical and long-term care products and implementing SEPs or Keogh plans for eligible clients.

Throughout his career, John Richard Still has garnered recognition for his efforts, customer service, and proficiency. Between 1982 and 1991, Mr. Still qualified for five President’s Councils at NYLIC. Later, he won a National Quality Award from the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors, in which he maintains an active membership. Similarly, he received a National Sales Achievement Award. He also belongs to the Texas Association of Life Underwriters.
