Attorney John Roth served in the legal department at IBM from 1983 to 1986. After leaving IBM, he started his own practice, the Law Offices of John Roth. During the 1990s and into the millennium, Roth traveled to Russia during several months of the year, developing start-up companies, such as ARC Technologies and Baltex Computer Systems. While abroad, he decided to adjust his area of practice, launching Roth Immigration Law Firm in 1995. Clients choose John Roth for his expertise in EB-5 Visas. International citizens interested in permanently relocating to the United States may earn their green cards after investing $500,000 in a U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services-approved Designated Regional Center. The EB-5 Visa program provides legal residency for entrepreneurs while creating new jobs in parts of the United States where there is a need. When an investor is ready to start the process, John Roth assesses his or her financial history to verify eligibility. He then aids in reviewing the available Regional Centers to choose the best option for the client’s investment. Once the client accepts a Center’s proposal and places $530,000 into an escrow account, John Roth submits the I-526 Immigration Petition. It may take up to eight months for U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services to issue an approval or denial. If the client’s application is approved, John Roth then submits the I-485 to register for permanent residence or adjust the client’s status to conditional permanent residence. Pending another approval, the client receives a 2-year conditional green card, followed by an unconditional 10-year green card, and finally, permanent U.S. residency. John Roth completed his undergraduate education at Drew University, earning a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Russian Studies. In addition to completing his Juris Doctor at the University of Pennsylvania Law School, Roth received a Master of Business Administration from The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania.

Graduating from The University of Pennsylvania Law School (Penn Law) in 1983 helped me begin a path to success in the field of jurisprudence. In addition to preparing me for the New York State Bar examination, the classes helped me learn the necessary skills for thriving as an attorney.

Standing among the oldest functioning law schools, Penn Law was unofficially founded in 1790 by James Wilson, who signed the Declaration of Independence and the U.S. Constitution and served as a Supreme Court Justice. After he presented a number of lectures on legal matters at The University of Pennsylvania, the school officially added a law program to its roster in 1850.

A part of the Ivy League’s University of Pennsylvania, Penn Law offers Master of Comparative Laws, Master of Laws, Doctor of Judicial Science, and Juris Doctor programs. In addition to maintaining a prestigious faculty, Penn Law has graduated a number of high-profile individuals, including the founder of The American Law Institute and two U.S. Supreme Court justices.
