Welcome to the blog of John Tindall-Gibson, Superintendent of Naugatuck Public Schools. The Naugatuck public school system offers wonderful learning opportunities for traditional and nontraditional students. Over my next two blog entries, I will provide overviews of some of our programs, as well as answers to your most pressing questions.

    School District
In Naugatuck, we strive to provide our K-12 students with the resources they need to absorb a broad, well-rounded academic curriculum that prepares them for higher education and beyond. We work toward this bold goal via several objectives. Namely, our staff advocates for a curriculum designed according to rigorous state standards, thorough research, and assessments that test fundamental skills and knowledge. Finding and employing the best teachers in their fields remains another of the Naugatuck school system’s foremost priorities. We offer our teachers incentives intended to keep them on staff over long periods of time, which allows both teachers and students to bond and form relationships built on trust and solid education.

    Adult and Continuing Education
Learning does not stop at a predetermined point in life. We in Naugatuck believe learning to be a lifelong process from which all ages can benefit. Our Adult & Continuing Education program affords adults the perfect opportunity to further their educational wants and needs beyond their current levels. We offer GEDs, preparatory courses, and much more besides.

In my next blog post, I will provide more details concerning Naugatuck Public Schools.

    Sincerely,

    John Tindall-Gibson
