Joe Steinbacher is an environmental professional and sustainability expert. Joe worked for the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), where he managed Natural Resource Damage Assessment (NRDA) cases at some of the largest oil spills and Superfund Sites in the country. For his efforts, he was awarded the Department of Commerce Bronze Medal and the United States Coast Guard Meritorious Team Commendation. Presently, Joe is a Regional Manager at Versar, Inc. where he supports a variety of environmental programs for various government agencies. He is an accomplished author and speaker, having presented over 30 papers at various national and international conferences, seminars and symposia. Joe is a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) accredited professional and certified by the Project Management Institute (PMI) as a Project and Program Management Professional. He is an authority in the areas of natural resource liability, low-impact development, environmental stewardship and sustainable practices. Joe is a decorated Gulf War veteran and served in Operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm.
