Josh Kriteman grew up in the Hill Street neighborhood of Santa Monica, California, and he continues to remain an avid fan of local professional sports teams such as the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim and the Los Angeles Lakers. Mr. Kriteman attended his first opening day game at the age of 14. A friend’s grandfather, who had season tickets, took the boys to a game at Dodger Stadium, where they enjoyed first-row seats behind the dugout. Mr. Kriteman became a diehard Lakers fan the following year, when Byron Scott came to his middle school to shoot jump shots and autograph kids’ shoes. After graduating from Santa Monica High School, Josh Kriteman accepted a position with Cartel Marketing, Inc., a commercial insurance company based in Encino. A talented and dedicated employee, he eventually became Marketing Manager for Cartel. In this new role, Josh Kriteman handled daily communication with the firm’s clients, directed outreach marketing programs, and supervised four other employees. He worked at Cartel for almost a dozen years and played an essential part in the company’s growth from annual revenues of $1 million to more than $20 million. In 1999, Josh Kriteman and a partner decided to establish their own bookkeeping and accounting firm, and they launched Synergy Consulting, LLC, in early 2000. Since that time, Synergy Consulting has seen solid, consistent growth. Located on Pico Boulevard between 29th and 30th Streets, Synergy Consulting still retains its first customer but has grown to hold responsibility for managing more than $23 million in client assets. Josh Kriteman continues to live in Santa Monica with four children and his wife, the founder and Executive Director of Heaven on Earth. A nonprofit, cage-free, no-kill sanctuary for homeless felines in Van Nuys, Heaven on Earth typically houses 70 to 80 cats and kittens at a given time. The Kritemans have secured certification as foster parents, and they regularly attend services at First African Methodist Episcopal Church in Santa Monica.
