Though only 29, Joshua Newman is a seasoned entrepreneur. While at Yale as an undergraduate, he started two Internet companies (Sharkbyte and Powerdime) which were later acquired. Following this, he served as Managing Partner of the Silicon Ivy Venture Fund, a seed-stage tech venture capital firm that invested in student-driven startups; as Senior Technology Analyst for the Gerson Lehrman Group; and as a producer for De Niro’s TriBeCa Films and Comedy Central. Since 2003, he has served as CEO of Cyan Pictures, an indie film production and distribution company based in New York City. An active musician and fitness buff, Joshua plays trumpet in various jazz and classical groups and founded and helps run the maverick group-fitness gym CrossFit NYC.
