An experienced professional in the entertainment and cable news industry, Juan Gonzalo Angel currently serves as the President of Global Media Group of Colombia. More than 15 years ago, he launched his career by helping to found Cable Pacifico. Mr. Angel has assisted this company since its inception in developing a significant client base, leading its growth throughout northeastern Colombia. Using a fiber optic cable network, Cable Pacifico has expanded its services to serve nine of the country’s states.

Juan Gonzalo Angel has commented on Cable Pacifico’s successful technological expansions, explaining that these upgrades meet and exceed increased bandwidth requests, resulting in many satisfied customers. Furthermore, he has promoted the company’s success by negotiating a multinational contract with the company Telmex. In this position, Mr. Angel developed an important skill set for working in the media industry as both a cable operator and programmer.

Today, as the President of Global Media Group, Juan Gonzalo Angel focuses on creating thematic television channels. One year ago, the company developed its first 24-hour news channel, called Cable Noticias. Cable Noticias is the number-one rated news channel in Colombia, with a 90% market share and viewers in 16 Latin American countries as well as in the United States. Additionally, Mr. Angel has worked with Multivision, another highly successful news network that garners support from Spanish and U.S. investors. Like Cable Noticias, this company only began broadcasting a year ago. It now boasts over 5 million users. Mr. Angel designed Multivision to not only present objective new reports, but also to allow reporters to analyze issues from opposing viewpoints.
