An accomplished figure in the Texas judicial system, Austin resident Judge Pete Lowry possesses more than three and a half decades of experience as a lawyer and trial court judge. Throughout his career, Judge Pete Lowry has remained an influential and distinguished member of the community, contributing his time and resources to numerous charitable organizations. Beginning his notable career as a law clerk in the Supreme Court of Texas, Judge Pete Lowry has since achieved both Partner at prominent law firms and Judge of the 261st District Court.

Judge Pete Lowry has served with several legal associations during his career, including the Austin Bar Association, State Bar of Texas, and American Bar Association. In 2003, after joining Judge James R. Meyers to form the Austin-based firm of Meyers and Lowry for four years, Judge Pete Lowry was honored with the Distinguished Lawyer Award from the Austin Bar Association. Throughout his life, Judge Pete Lowry has contributed to causes he believes in and organizations he stands behind. A supporter of The Salvation Army, Judge Pete Lowry’s donations have gone to the charity’s many efforts in disaster relief, pro-humanitarian work, community ministries, and other philanthropic objectives.

Judge Pete Lowry’s efforts with Hospice Austin have bolstered the local nonprofit hospice’s important community programs and practices. Additionally, Judge Pete Lowry is a benefactor of Boston-based Partners in Health, a humanitarian group active in the Caribbean, Latin America, Africa, Russia, and the United States. In addition, Judge Pete Lowry is an avid sportsman and conservationist who enjoys fishing, hunting, and raising livestock. He is a member and frequent contributor to Ducks Unlimited.
