Broadcast journalist Julie Staley has held a range of positions throughout the Midwest during her 25-year career.Springfield, IllinoisOver the past 25 years, Julie Staley of Springfield, Illinois, has held numerous roles in the television industry. Most recently, she served as the 5 p.m. Television News Anchor for WICS-TV. Julie Staley held this position for five years before taking on the role of News Anchor for Fox Illinois 9 p.m. Newscast on WRSP-TV. She anchored these newscasts concurrently, becoming the only anchor in Illinois to carry out broadcasts on two separate stations at the same time. Before earning prime-time anchor positions, Julie Staley anchored the morning news for KDNL-TV and the overnight news for an NBC affiliate in St. Louis. She also served as a News Anchor and Talk Show Host for KCCP-TV in Kansas City, Missouri. Julie Staley has worked as a Production Assistant for CNN; she also spent a summer as a News Anchor and Reporter for the Carbondale, Illinois, radio station WCIL-FM while completing her Bachelor’s degree at Southern Illinois University. Julie Staley earned her Master’s in Mass Communications at Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville. Utilizing her expertise in communications, Julie Staley has created a website focused on the difficult yet rewarding journey of being a mother. On her blog, “Mommy Moments,” she shares how, after she delivered her first son a month early, her doctors informed her she would need fertility drugs to conceive another child. After an unfortunate miscarriage, Julie Staley gave birth to her second son, who was conceived naturally. Julie Staley now manages her oldest son’s modeling career, which has included work for Nintendo, State Farm Insurance, and VTech Electronics North America, LLC. In addition to writing her blog, managing her son’s modeling career, and doing part-time commercial work for local television, Julie Staley serves as the Director for the Henry Mueller Staley Charitable Foundation.
