Smith

Public Servant, Truman Scholar

Kai was born and raised in rural western Montana. In 2006-2007 Kai helped manage a state senate campaign in Montana and worked with the Montana State Auditor to advance a progressive health care agenda, including a ballot intiative that provided health care for 30,000 uninsured Montana children. At Seattle University he served as the student body president, a position he used to establish a revolving loan fund for renewable energy and conservation projects on-campus.

Kai enjoys listening to jazz, intramural sports, and wrestling with his two little brothers.
