Katherine DuRie attended Boston University School of Management, where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in May 2011. A strong leader and advocate of community service, Katherine DuRie served as a fundraiser and participant in Alternative Spring Break at the school, organizing a community service trip to Harpers Ferry, West Virginia and assisting with fence-building and ground maintenance at the park as co-coordinator. Katherine DuRie also served as Vice President of Community Service for Delta Sigma Pi, a business-focused fraternity on campus, of which she was a member. As Vice President of Community Service, Katherine DuRie organized three campus-wide charity events and also coordinated member participation in 15 community service events around the city of Boston.

Katherine DuRie volunteered in the springs of 2008 and 2009 with the Earned Income Tax Credit Campaign in Allston and Dorchester, Massachusetts. During her time with the group, Katherine DuRie completed a training program in tax law and skills before passing the IRS certification exam and assisting low income households with the preparation of their taxes.

In Fall 2009, Katherine DuRie completed an extensive academic project in New Product Development, creating a business plan to design a product to meet consumers’ needs. She also conducted extensive research and evaluated a range of raw materials to determine potential design issues and profits. Finally, Ms. DuRie budgeted a number of marketing campaigns and planned efficient use of funding to raise awareness in her target market.

Katherine DuRie currently serves as an intern at Foundation Source, an organization based in Fairfield, Connecticut providing back office and administrative services to foundations around the northeast. Ms. DuRie first joined the company in summer of 2009 and returned in summer 2010. As an intern, Katherine DuRie handled a range of tax and financial tasks for as many as 70 foundations.
