Acclaimed singer Katherine Grefner serves as a dedicated Teacher and Pageant Director in the Vancouver area. Katherine Grefner has enjoyed a flourishing career in the arts, serving in a variety of positions in the areas of teaching, coaching, performing, and producing. Currently, Katherine Grefner teaches Fine Arts and French in the Vancouver area. As a graduate of the University of Calgary, where she received a Bachelor of Education degree, Katherine Grefner is a member of the British Columbia Teachers Federation and the British Columbia College of Teachers, as well as Variety – The Children’s Charity. A talented singer, Katherine Grefner has successfully participated in the highly competitive world of pageants. Winning the coveted title of Miss Red Deer, Katherine Grefner was also named Canada’s first runner-up in the Miss World Canada competition, as well as a runner-up in the internationally televised Miss Oktoberfest pageant. In all three competitions, Katherine Grefner won the talent portion of the contests with her singing performances. A veteran of many talent shows and pageants, Katherine Grefner has also served as a professional Pageant and Talent Performance Coach. She has also acted as a Judge for these competitions as well.. As the Director of the Miss World Canada competition for one year, as well as the Miss Canada Teen Global competition, Katherine Grefner devotes herself to enabling young women to experience the personal enrichment and opportunities offered by competition, and making philanthropy the primary focus of these events through raising funds for Variety-The Children’s Charity. To date, these Katherine Grefner’s events have raised close to $200 000 for charity. Through these events that she produced, Katherine Grefner also created a televised TV feature for Miss World Canada for the first time in over 30 years, as well as a televised documentary for Miss Canada Teen Global. Katherine Grefner continues to sing professionally. Katherine Grefner’s two full-length Christmas CDs: AN EDEN CHRISTMAS and ANGELS IN THE SNOW, which sold out at HMV stores throughout Canada.
