With an eye on long-term personal goals, insurance executive Keith Smaldon launched his career at an early age. Born and raised in London, England, Keith Smaldon attended the Aristotle School, where he majored in English, French, and Math. Upon graduating with his General Certificate of Education (GCE), Keith Smaldon joined the Parachute Regiment of the British Army and eventually rose to the rank of Sergeant in the 10th Battalion. A prominent member of the army’s elite unit, Keith Smaldon participated in the 25th Anniversary of “Operation Market Garden,” parachuting over Arnhem Bridge in September 1969. While attending Chartered Insurance Institute, Keith also worked at Lloyd’s of London as a Reinsurance Broker on behalf of Insurance Companies throughout Europe, Australia, South Africa and United States. For three years, Keith Smaldon learned the fundamentals of his industry at the Chartered Insurance Institute and ultimately earned certification in Risk Management and Commercial Insurance. Keith Smaldon moved to New York to join Wilcox Reinsurance Intermediaries establishing the International Division of which he was Chief Executive prior to accepting the role as President of Eagle Intermediaries. Partnering with significant broker Schiff Terhune Inc. from 1980 to 1984, Keith Smaldon demonstrated his proficiency in a wide range of insurance functions. In 1984, Keith Smaldon received an offer to work as Senior Vice President at the New York office of RFC Intermediaries, where he increased his expertise as an insurance intermediary. During his time as a resident of New York, Keith Smaldon attended the Insurance College and gained accreditation in U.S. Commercial, Marine, and Personal Lines Insurance. Keith Smaldon has spent the past 20 years working for various insurance firms in Massachusetts and Maine, including Marsh, Inc.; Hays Companies; and Mazonson LLC. Currently Senior Vice President of Business Development at USI/Goldman Sachs Capital Partners, Keith Smaldon splits his time between his offices in Woburn, Massachusetts, and Portland, Maine.
