Adler is the Executive Director of BetterGrads, a startup college access organization that connects high school students with successful local college students and recent graduates. Kevin recently completed his graduate studies at Cambridge University, where he received “distinction” on his dissertation analyzing the impact of natural disasters on social capital and community life. Kevin presented his research at the MPSA conference and the BRISMES Graduate conference, receiving competitive awards at both. He will graduate in the top 5 percentile of his Master’s program in Sociology. The Benjamin H. Culley Award recipient – awarded to one outstanding graduating senior – Kevin graduated Magna Cum Laude from Occidental College, where he received “Honors, w/ Distinction” for his dissertation exploring social capital fluctuations in the US since WWII. He earned top honors in the Politics Dept. as the 2006 Student of the Year and the Jane Jaquette Service Award recipient. Kevin has years of experience at nonprofits, political campaigns and offices, and internet start-ups. Kevin has worked at nuAlerts (a social media communication platform), the Commonwealth Club, California Community Foundation, Article 19: Global Campaign for Free Expression, Office of Congresswoman Ellen Tauscher, Office of L.A. Council President Eric Garcetti, and the Alaskan Democratic Party.
