After completing a degree from The Ohio State University College of Dentistry, Dr. Kimsey Anderson became a commissioned officer in the United States Air Force. During her military and dental training at Kirtland Air Force Base in New Mexico, Dr. Anderson?s consistent dedication and quality of work garnered her distinction as the Company Grade Officer of the Quarter and a scholarship to attend the University of Pennsylvania to obtain an Orthodontic Specialty Certificate and a Master of Science in Oral Biology.

On completion of her advanced education, she was selected for the position as Chairman of the Department of Orthodontics at Wright-Patterson Medical Center. In this role, Dr. Anderson provided orthodontic care for military personnel and their families. During her time at Wright-Patterson Medical Center, Dr. Kimsey Anderson served as the Director of the Dentofacial Deformities Board and a member of the Craniofacial Board, as well as an Instructor to general dental residents in orthodontic techniques.

Upon leaving the Air Force, Dr. Anderson helped form Harnick and Anderson Orthodontics, LLP, in Albuquerque, which later became Anderson Orthodontics, PC. Now head of her private practice, she remains committed to the New Mexico community, as well as the dental profession. Dr. Kimsey Anderson often directs her efforts to supporting career opportunities for young women and speaks to high school students about the dental field. She offers young people chances to shadow her at work to experience the orthodontic and dental profession firsthand. Her dedicated efforts have resulted in many young women entering dental school. Dr. Anderson has spoken at career days and was on the Dental Steering Committee for the Southwestern Indian Polytechnic Institute. In recognition of her continued work, Dr. Kimsey Anderson received an Albuquerque The Magazine award for Best Orthodontist for 2006 and 2008. Most recently, she was nominated for a 2011 Governor?s Award for Outstanding New Mexico Women.
