Kleber Costa leads Citigroup’s division of Energy Commodities in Latin America as Director, a position he has held since 2008. One of Citigroup’s most valued assets, Kleber Costa performs a number of key duties, including client transactions and the selection of principal investment opportunities in energy, mining and metals, and agricultural commodities. Previously, Kleber Costa served as Vice President, U.S. Power and Gas Origination and Structuring, at Lehman Brothers in New York City and was responsible for organizing and expanding its American energy business. Kleber Costa accumulated expertise in mergers and acquisitions and divestitures during his tenure as Director, Corporate Development, at Cinergy in Cincinnati, Ohio. Kleber Costa is also experienced in the commercial management of generation assets and the structuring and negotiation of long-term power and fuel contracts. A graduate of the Universidade de São Paulo in Brazil, Kleber Costa studied Engineering and Civil Engineering. Kleber Costa received his Master of Business Administration from the Warwick Business School at the University of Warwick in Coventry, Great Britain. Awarded a U.K. Foreign and Commonwealth Office scholarship by the British Council during graduate school, Kleber Costa also organized a conference on the deregulation of the U.K. energy sector for Brazilian utilities delegates.
