University of Michigan
, Class of 1999
During his time at the University of Michigan , Kojo Linder attained the following Achievements: The design and fabrication of the first Quantum Dot Laser on a Silicon Substrate.
Awards: 1994-1998 CIC and University of Michigan Rackham Merit Fellowships
Thesis: Characterization and Device Applications of SiGe- and Compound Semiconductor- based Heterostructures
During graduate school, Dr. Linder’s research focused on the development of compound semiconductor lasers and transistors. The work involving dislocation reduction led to the development of the first quantum laser built on a silicon wafer. Potential applications include optical transmission from current CMOS technology. Early work experience was built on lessons from graduate school – which included building and managing a research level Class-10 cleanroom for building high-speed circuits based on compound semiconductor technology. Work also included developing a monolithically integrated photoreceiver from research into production.

Assistant Professor
In his role as Assistant Professor, Kojo Linder taught Electronics I and II courses where he was responsible for instructing students in Op-amps, digital and analog circuit design, single- and multistage amplifiers, oscillators and facilitated the lab class.
Kojo Linder created a secure Linux-based network for the electrical engineering department that included personal accounts for all students. He further created a secure wireless network in all classrooms and installed industry standard circuit design software on all computers during a technical refresh. Kojo Linder chaired the department lab committee and was charged with duties of upgrading software and hardware throughout the department. Finally, Kojo Linder developed the Mobile Studio Learning Center for the Electronics curriculum which provided each student with tablet computers and testing hardware.
