An involved mother of four, Kristin Swanson-Mace actively encourages her children’s baseball and basketball extracurricular activities. An avid walker, Kristin Swanson-Mace is currently training for future 5-K races and half-marathons. Entering the United States Military Academy at West Point in 1979, Ms. Swanson-Mace spent two years studying engineering before transferring to Providence College in Rhode Island and completing a degree in political science. In 1987, she graduated from the California School of Law located in San Diego, California. As a law student, Ms. Swanson-Mace received the American Jurisprudence Award in Civil Procedure and the American Jurisprudence Award in Trusts and Estates. Kristin Swanson-Mace became a member of the Florida Bar in 1987 and the Workers’ Compensation Section of the Florida Bar in 1988. She became a member of the Rhode Island Bar in 1991. Kristin Swanson-Mace practiced workers’ compensation defense law from 1988 to 1999 as an Associate with Rissman, Barrett, Hurt, Donahue & McLain, P.A. Moving into a Partner position in 1999 with Spangler, Mace, & Zinaich, P.A., she continued to focus on worker’s compensation cases. Kristin Swanson-Mace opened her own Orlando, Florida, office in 2000, a practice that she has successfully maintained since. Ms. Swanson-Mace represents clients such as Halifax Health Systems located in Daytona Beach, Florida, and the Florida Division of Risk Management located in Tallahassee.
