Kristy Martin, CEO/Manager of Calliope Talent, Model, and Artist Management, LLC of San Antonio, Texas and Calliope Talent Management, LLC of Los Angeles, California, has studied and worked in the entertainment, media, and show business industries since 1987. Before opening Calliope SA in 1993, Kristy worked in television/film production and coordination, theatre management, promotions, media writing, theme park management, and agenting. She started writing at the age of 7, and began performing in theatre productions by age 13. She continued acting throughout high school before going behind the scenes in college.

Kristy holds four degrees, including a Master of Arts, a Bachelor of Communication Arts, an Associate in Applied Science, and an Associate of Arts (all in TV/Film studies). She was a member of the Dean’s List, the National Dean’s List, and the Honor’s List. Her Master’s thesis detailed the development of a model university’s communications department, programs, and curriculum - a reflection of Kristy’s passion toward academics and education. Kristy’s future academic objectives are to pursue a Master of Education Degree in Training and Performance Improvement, and ultimately a PhD in Cinema and Television.
 
Kristy has developed, designed, and taught numerous industry, performance, and self-improvement courses and workshops. She travels coast to coast as an acting teacher/developer, motivational speaker, moderator, and consultant. She has made various promotional appearances, and has judged and scouted at conventions and pageants. Kristy has conceived, produced, and directed innovative, visionary, and award-winning showcases, theatre productions, instructor symposiums, model searches, special events, and fund-raising drives. She is an accomplished media and entertainment writer/editor and is actively involved in media/client/community/public relations.

Kristy’s avid studies and observations of celebrity/entertainment/pop culture directly and regularly contribute to her coaching techniques and counsel. She has developed and launched the careers of many celebrities and working actors, including Ricardo Antonio Chavira (series regular/Desperate Housewives), Shelbie Bruce (star/Spanglish), Ashly Holloway (co-star/Polar Express; recurring/Curb Your Enthusiasm), Jesse Head (series regular/Mary Kate and Ashley’s So Little Time), Joel Klug (original cast member/Survivor), and Ytosse Patterson (original cast member/Temptation Island).

Kristy is an activist for legislative and regulatory reform related to entertainment industry issues in Texas and California. Her professional experiences and subsequent legal training/research/writing campaigns have directly contributed to substantial precedents and changes in state law and bureaucratic operations.

Kristy was recently named the Second Most Influential Woman in Texas Entertainment by SWAG Magazine. She is a board member in the Alliance, an advocacy group of entertainment industry professionals based in Austin, Texas. Kristy is also a member of the Texas Motion Picture Alliance and the Los Angeles Entertainment Manager’s Alliance.

Kristy is affiliated with Reaching Maximum Independence (RMI), an organization that provides private housing and round-the-clock caretakers for retarded and mentally disabled consumers who would otherwise be institutionalized. Kristy is the future legal guardian to her Aunt Debbie, who lives in an RMI home. Her father (Debbie’s sister and current guardian) is a founder, past president, and board member of RMI.

Kristy has been active in promoting breast cancer awareness since her mother’s 2006 diagnosis and subsequent healing. During 2007’s Komen Race For the Cure in San Antonio, Kristy’s mom’s team (The CoCo Strollers) placed as a top ten fundraiser out of 845 teams.
Kristy enjoys reading, writing, Bible and academic study, concerts, theater, movies, music, favorite TV shows, hiking, traveling, collecting sentimentals, and spending quality time with friends and family (including weekly jaunts to the park with her Grandma and Aunt Debbie). She is grateful for the good Lord’s blessings in her life.
