Columnist @ Chicano Channel MagazineSan Antonio, TexasA writer and former law enforcement professional with a rich degree of experience, Kyle Goodwin currently writes on a part-time basis for Chicano Channel Magazine in San Antonio, Texas. A longtime resident of San Antonio, Mr. Goodwin began his career as a sales professional for Gary Pools, where for more than three years he sold equipment, such as pumps, filters, spas, covers, and cleaners, to clients throughout the region. During this time, Kyle Goodwin chose to develop his skill set through part-time coursework at San Antonio College, pursuing studies from 1997 through 1999. In tandem with his coursework, Mr. Goodwin became a Warehouse Manager for M&G Marketing Inc., in which he held logistical oversight for nine Hallmark Stores and ensured a high degree of customer service. Eventually, Kyle Goodwin enrolled part-time in specialized coursework in Business Administration at The University of Texas at San Antonio, where he studied until May 2001. In September 2001, Kyle Goodwin left his position with M&G Marketing Inc. and commenced the next phase of his career as a Police Officer for the San Antonio Police Department. For the next 10 years, Mr. Goodwin served city of San Antonio, enforcing all municipal and state laws, investigating numerous crimes and traffic accidents, and appearing in court to deliver reports and sworn testimony. Highly trained in tactics, firearms, and driving, Mr. Goodwin operated in some of the most dangerous, crime-infested neighborhoods of San Antonio, helping to foster a renewed sense of peace and security for underserved residents of the Eastside. Retiring from his post at the San Antonio Police Department in October 2010, Kyle Goodwin has since undertaken a semi-regular role as a columnist with Chicano Channel Magazine, where he offers a fresh perspective on such topics as illegal immigration and local sports.
