Lars
Windhorst

German entrepreneur

Berlin, Germany

In the early 1990’s Lars Windhorst started dealing with electronic components. Already at the age of 15 he showed such business skills that in 1992 his first company the “Windhorst Computer” was founded. Due to his young age however, his father had to take the position of general manager. The company bought electronic components in Asia at extremely favourable prices and built them into computers which were sold at high profits in Germany.
Lars Windhorst whom even his opponents attested a charismatic nature, was despite of his youth an exceptionally skilful negotiator.

The young German entrepreneur became through his early business successes one of the founders of a new business generation in which even teenagers could rise to be accepted business partners. Lars Windhorst did not only draw the media interest but he also mingled with high ranking personalities from economy, show-biz and politics.
As of 1995 further company subsidiaries in China, Vietnam and Europe were opened and in the same year the Windhorst Group reported sales of 180 million Deutsch Marks.
The media crowned Windhorst the “Wunderkind” of German economy.

In 1999 he founded the “Windhorst Technologies GmbH” for the areas internet and telecommunications and in October 2000 the head office of “Windhorst Holding” was opened at Potsdamer Platz in Berlin.
With the collapse of the new economies Lars Windhorst’s companies were drawn in the economic slipstream and by August 2004 he was forced to file for bankruptcy for the three companies Windhorst AG, Windhorst Electronics GmbH and Windhorst Capital Holding GmbH.
His personal insolvency was closed in summer 2007 und thus Lars Windhorst was free of debts.
Even though he had to take deep hits in his business career

In a recent article that appeared in the magazine Handelsblatt, the career of Lars Windhorst was summarized by his popularity and business successes abroad. It was written that he has the capability of calling on the most exclusive and reclusive money lenders, stating the case for his client or project, and walking away with the secured funds that he was seeking. International investors are still impressed with the way Lars Windhorst makes new contacts and uses them to the benefit of his clients as he continues to travel with private jets, closing spectacular financial deals across the globe.

Lars Windhorst always managed to find firm ground. To be discouraged was never part of his vocabulary and so today he acts as CEO of Sapinda Deutschland GmbH.
