Like most African America Actresses in cinema, Leslie Drake’s personal history is marked by accomplishments, boundary breaking, and undertaking. Born in the Philippines; this bodacious beauty is ready to take the world by storm. Leslie grew up in various parts of Asia such as Japan, Korea, and Guam before her father, who served 21 years in the Air Force was stationed in the United States when she was 10 years of age. Her mother passed away shortly after their move to the United States on her 10th Birthday. Leslie’s father passed away 4 years later from cancer. Her childhood was filled with abuse from her paternal grandmother prior to her maternal Aunt stepping in the raise Leslie into the lady she is today. Having conquered every obstacle placed before her, it’s no secret that Leslie Drake is on her way to the top.
As a child Leslie always dreamed of being a star; several years later someone took an interest in the star power she possessed. Leslie got her start when she landed her first voiceover in a radio commercial acting out skits for a local retail store in Columbia, SC all while pursing her BS degree at South Carolina State University. 12 radio commercials later she landed a starring role in the hit Television Show “Metro” written and produced by Chris Dorrah. “Metro” aired on the WB and went #1 in the region. Leslie played a character name Fury who had a dominant and fierce attitude. After landing her first role in “Metro” she went on to land several roles in “One Night Stand”, “Stomp the Yard”, “Heart of the City”, and Wendy Williams Movie “Queen of Media” where she played alongside of Robin Givens.
Leslie moved to Atlanta, GA in 2009 to further pursue her acting career. Currently, she is working on the following film projects “Chess”, “Templeton Pride”, “BFF”, “Spit Game”, & “Interludes” to name a few. She is also slated to go on tour with Veteran Acclaimed Actor Clifton Powell for his upcoming industry seminars in August 2011. Ms. Drake is a rising star that is destined for longevity. The world is definitely in for a treat.
