Ledri-Aguilar

Lisa Ledri-Aguilar, Associate Professor of English at Grossmont College in El Cajon, California, holds a Bachelor’s degree in Literature from Wheaton College, as well as two Master’s degrees in English and Religious Studies from the University of San Diego and Westminster Theological Seminary, respectively. She has taught English at four universities and worked with an array of educational organizations. Additionally, Lisa Ledri-Aguilar studies the writings of C.S. Lewis, presenting papers on the author at a wide variety of universities and seminars. Lisa Ledri-Aguilar is also a reading specialist.

Currently, Lisa Ledri-Aguilar is a full-time member of Grossmont’s faculty, teaching both upper and lower division courses in composition and literature. In 1995, the university honored her for Outstanding Performance as a Teacher. Prior to Grossmont, Lisa Ledri-Aguilar served as an Assistant Professor at Christian Heritage College, where she served as Faculty Advisor for Sigma Tau Delta—the International English Honor Society, as well as Chair of the Honors Committee. Before Christian Heritage, Lisa Ledri-Aguilar taught at San Diego City College, where she received the EOPS Outstanding Achievement as a Teacher in 1996, as well as at Point Loma Nazarene University in San Diego.

Beyond her work as a professor, Lisa Ledri-Aguilar boasts involvement in numerous organizations dedicated to education and literature. Lisa Ledri-Aguilar serves as President for the Greater San Diego Council Teachers of English and will be a member of the statewide C.A.T.E. (California Teachers of English) board for the upcoming two years. In addition, Lisa Ledri-Aguilar taught for the Project Success Learning Communities, a program offered at Grossmont College working to increase college attendance in California. Project Success Learning Communities was chosen by the statewide Campaign for College Opportunity in 2009 as one of the two best programs of its kind in the state. Additionally, Lisa Ledri-Aguilar is the chairperson of Lamb’s Players Theatre Board of Trustees in San Diego.

An authority on author C.S. Lewis, Lisa Ledri-Aguilar has composed and presented several academic essays dealing with Lewis’ works and credo at the University of Colorado at Boulder’s C.S. Lewis Faculty Forum and Cal Poly Pomona’s C.S. Lewis Faculty forum. Lisa Ledri-Aguilar also delivered a speech titled “C.S. Lewis, the Tao and the Value of Reading Literature” to Torrey Honors students at Biola University in La Mirada, California.
