Australian Soprano, Louise Hudson made her European Debut in the State Theatre of Kosice in 2004 as Donna Anna in Mozart’s opera Don Giovanni. Since then she has quickly progressed to the Theatres of first Prague and Bratislava and then on to Germany, Spain, Italy and Hungary. Her Operatic repertoire includes the Verdi Heroines in Nabucco (Prague, Bratislava, Osnabrück-DE, Bad Schwalbach Summer Festival-DE and Sopron-HU), Macbeth (Bratislava, Madrid-ES, Zaragoza-ES, Poznan-PL), Il Trovatore (Kosice, Madrid-ES, Murcia-ES, Logrono-ES) and Attila (Banska Bystrica, Janacek Festival Hukvaldy-CZ). Her repertoire also includes Puccini’s Tosca (Kosice-SK and Sopron-HU), Mozart’s Vitellia from La Clemenza di Tito (Prague), Donna Anna from Don Giovanni (Kosice and Prague) and Leonora from Beethoven’s Fidelio (Venice-IT).

Louise studied Mathematics & Physics at the University of New South Wales in Sydney, before deciding on a career in Music. She has experimented with various musical styles in the past including Jazz and contemporary music. Louise performed regularly at the Sydney Opera House & in the Victorian Arts centre for Opera Australia & was a sought after recitalist. She was successful in all of the major vocal competitions in Australia, including the Metropolitan Opera Auditions, The Remy Martin Opera Awards, The McDonalds Operatic Aria competition & in 1997 was the recipient of a European Study grant from the Australian Opera & Arts support Committee, at which time, she travelled to Germany to Study with Martino Stamos & Elizabeth Whitehouse. Louise has also studied & attended Masterclasses with Donald Munro & Eva Blahova. She is now perfecting her Vocal technique with Alessandra Althof in Venice.

Louise has recently accepted a permanent position in the ensemble of the Slovak National Theatre in Bratislava.
