Maddie Witter, formally Maddie Tippens, is Director of Instruction at KIPP Infinity Charter School in Harlem, New York. She co-founded the school in 2005 as the fifth grade reading teacher and since is currently teaching 8th grade reading and writing to the founding class. Before coming to KIPP, Maddie was a literacy coach at MS 328, a school she co-founded in Washington Heights, New York. She taught special education and ELL for two years after joining Teach for America in 2002. Prior to joining Teach for America, Maddie was a guided reading teacher for four years in an elementary school in the Lower East Side.
