Well-versed in domestic and international policy-making, Majida Mourad serves as Vice President and Partner of The Abraham Group LLC in Washington, D.C. The company’s namesake, former U.S. Senator and Secretary of the U.S. Department of Energy Spencer Abraham, holds recognition for his government and energy expertise and steady leadership. Mourad has worked with Abraham for more than a decade.

At Indiana University Kokomo, Majida Mourad studied liberal arts. She also completed the Advanced Legislative Process Institute through the Congressional Research Service of the Library of Congress. Her impressive résumé includes positions in global market research and Congressional offices as well as a high-level post with the U.S. Department of Energy. At Strategic Research and Consulting, Inc., based in Toledo, Ohio, Mourad served as a Project Manager. Mourad joined the office of Congressman Sonny Bono as a Legislative Correspondent and Systems Administrator. When his wife, Mary Bono, assumed his office following his death, Mourad became her Special Assistant.

Majida Mourad accepted a position as Executive Assistant to U.S. Senator Spencer Abraham in 2000. Subsequently, she served as a Special Assistant on the Bush-Cheney transition team before joining the newly named Secretary of Energy Abraham as his Senior Adviser. She handled scheduling and advance operations and became the Secretary’s international affairs representative. In addition, Mourad acted as Secretary Abraham’s financial community liaison, organizing roundtable events in London, Sydney, and other cities worldwide on how to ensure investments in critical energy infrastructure.

At The Abraham Group LLC, Majida Mourad joins Spencer Abraham and Joseph McMonigle, former Vice Chairman of the International Energy Agency Board of Governors and U.S. Department of Energy Chief of Staff. She also served as the Secretary’s liaison to the financial community, organizing roundtables in Sydney, London, and many other countries around the world with Secretary Abraham and leading international financial institutions discussing approaches to insure adequate future investment for critical energy infrastructure, including next generation nuclear power plants and LNG export and import terminals.
