Orthodontist Dr. Marc Lemchen runs a successful practice based in New York City.
An experienced orthodontist, Dr. Marc Lemchen maintains a busy practice based in New York City. In addition to his clinical contributions, he has also done important research work in orthodontic technology. Dr. Marc Lemchen has received a number of patents for instruments or software he has developed. Among these, Dr. Lemchen has secured patents for computer-generated placement of orthodontic brackets, an orthodontic sterilizer, and a number of dental imaging devices. He has also developed software for a paperless orthodontic practice. As part of his research work, Dr. Marc Lemchen co-founded Dolphin Imaging & Management Solutions, a company that specializes in interfaces for digital X-ray and Cone Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT) technology. Founded in mid-1980s, it was one of the first companies of its kind. Today, Dolphin Imaging’s products are employed by thousands of practices worldwide. Dr. Lemchen also serves as the Chairman of the Board for Virtual Software Solutions, Inc., another dental software company. Dr. Marc Lemchen maintains a number of professional affiliations. He belongs to the College of Diplomates of the American Board of Orthodontists, as well as to the American Association of Orthodontists. In 2005 and 2006, Dr. Lemchen served as the President of the New York Academy of Orthodontics and served as the President of the American Society of Lasers and Advanced Technology in Dentistry. Other affiliations include the Ormco Insiders Group and the Schulman Study Group, two continuing education organizations that represent some of the very best orthodontists in the United States. Dr. Marc Lemchen studied dentistry at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in Boston, Massachusetts, and graduated in 1970. Following a tour of duty with the U.S. Air Force, Dr. Lemchen completed his orthodontic training and has been in private practice since that time.
