Utilizing a range of business skills including determination, communication, dedication, leadership, and organization, Maresa Rowan oversees strategy development in the Pharmaceutical Division of Abbott Laboratories, Ireland as Customer Excellence Manager. With more than 15 years of experience developing sales and marketing strategy, Maresa Rowan has successfully held management positions with Abbott more than for 5 years.

Between 1990 and 1994, Maresa Rowan studied at the University of Ulster, Magee campus and at the University of Bordeaux in France from 1992 to 1993. Ultimately, she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in International Business Communication. After completion of her undergraduate work, she pursued further training. In 1995, she obtained a certificate in management through the Graduate Management Development Programme in Belfast, Northern Ireland.

Before attaining a position with Abbott Laboratories, Maresa Rowan spent the first decade of her professional career in various marketing roles. For five years, she worked in New York as a Key Account Manager, managing the day-to-day key account management functions of a textile company, communicating with clients, and researching trends. For the next five years, she moved back to Ireland to direct marketing strategy for three major medical device brands.

With Abbott since 2006, she has led strategic and divisional plans into action with optimal results. Her efforts have been rewarded several times through honors, promotions, and awards. In 2009, her peers voted her Abbott Employee of the Year.
