Marilee Snyder possesses over 20 years of experience in counseling and psychotherapy with clients from all economic and ethnic backgrounds. She focuses primarily on life transition issues, trauma recovery, depression management, and family systems therapy.

With experience working in many settings, including schools, community health centers, clients’ homes, churches, courtrooms, and juvenile detention centers, Marilee Snyder has also maintained a private practice in the Chicago area and in Boulder, where she relocated five years ago. Her Boulder practice is listed as Boulder Counseling and Advocacy. Snyder works collaboratively to address difficult issues blocking recovery and living a fully satisfying life. She uses different therapeutic modalities such as ego state therapy, cognitive therapies, emotional freedom technique, thought field therapy, and many more related strategies.

At Boulder Counseling & Advocacy, Marilee Snyder works with a diverse set of clientele. Patients come from complex family constellations, gay and lesbian communities, and diverse ethnic populations. Her patients include trauma survivors, couples in conflict, people experiencing life changes, cancer patients and survivors, expecting and new moms, and frustrated parents with oppositional children. To facilitate interaction with non-native speakers, Marilee Snyder draws on her proficiency in Spanish, Portuguese, and French. She majored in foreign languages at The University of Arizona, where she received a Bachelor of Arts.

Licensed to practice in Colorado, Marilee Snyder belongs to the National Association of Social Workers, the American Society of Clinical Hypnosis, the International Society for the Study of Trauma and Dissociation, the Association for Comprehensive Energy Psychology, and the Society for Clinical & Experimental Hypnosis. She attends several conferences a year in her field to present workshops and facilitate groups, as well as to add to her knowledge and skills. She holds a Master of Social Work from the Jane Addams College of Social Work at the University of Illinois at Chicago and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Denver. Marilee Snyder is also an Approved Consultant with the American Society of Clinical Hypnosis and a Fellow and Certified Consultant with the Society for Clinical & Experimental Hypnosis.
