Mark H. Chae, Ph.D.Cranford, New JerseyDr. Mark Chae holds a Master of Education in Counseling Psychology and a Master of Arts in Applied Psychology from Columbia University in New York, New York. During his studies at Columbia University, he was honored with an academic scholarship from the William Randolph Hearst Foundation. In 2004, Dr. Chae received his Doctor of Philosophy in Counseling Psychology from New Jersey’s Seton Hall University. While working toward his doctorate, Dr. Chae was honored at an Annual Conference of the New Jersey Psychological Association with the NJPA Foundation’s Minority Scholarship. In his final year at Seton Hall University, Dr. Chae was recognized by the faculty with its Nominated Outstanding Graduate Student Award. Currently, Dr. Chae serves as Research Psychologist at the Violence Institute of NJ, Division of Behavioral Health Care, University of Medicine & Dentistry of New Jersey; he is also member of the graduate faculty at Seton Hall University in the Department of Professional Psychology and Family Therapy. Dr. Chae’s research interests include Racial and Ethnic Identity Development, acculturation process, social justice issues in Psychology and Medicine, Social Disorganization and Intimate Partner Violence among People of Color, and Men and Masculinity from a multicultural perspective.
