new to bigsightThroughout the duration of his professional career with Tabua Investments Ltd, Martin Darveniza worked closely with the Fijian government, bureaucrats, private sectors, and the tourist industry to ensure that infrastructural development and integrity remained a top priority. As Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of Tabua Investments and Executive Chairman of Denarau Corporation, Martin Darveniza was a major force behind the creation of Fiji’s largest integrated resort, which includes resort hotels, condominiums, and apartments. Martin Darveniza relied on strong communication and management skills to drive this ambitious project. Darveniza worked diligently to attract investors and dealt with landowners, the Native Land Trust Board, the Lands Department, the Ministry of Tourism, the Local Rural Authority, the Fiji Trade and Investment Board, and many more. In addition to his hands-on approach and representation with various committees, Martin Darveniza oversaw land swaps of native and state areas, as well as strata lease integration. Martin Darveniza remains a major contributor to the development of many world-renowned hotels, including Trendwest, Sofitel, Starwood, Hilton, the Radisson Resort, Golf Terraces, Denarau Villas, Denarau Golf & Racquet Club, and Denarau Marina. Apart from his role in physical development, Martin Darveniza involved himself in broad Fijian affairs at both the national and local levels. Martin Darveniza was invited to act fr three years on the Prime Minister’s Think Tank the highest private sector body in Fiji. Martin Darveniza was also Chairman the Fiji Tourism Forum on two occassions, a member of the National Tourism Council, and Chirman of the National Anti Litter Campaign, Martin Darveniza contributed to the betterment of Fiji on a grand scale. Darveniza also supported local youth development, creating the Nadi Primary School Sports Program which allowed over 1000 primary school students to participate in inter-school competetion for rugby, soccer and netball.
