About Mat TinleyAs a key player in the creation of United States and international pay television industry, Mat Tinley played a pivotal role on teams that built substantial and enduring media, sports, and entertainment companies all over the world. During the leadership of Mat Tinley, the gain realized from the sale of these companies exceeded $3 billion. After graduating from Harvard University with an MBA in 1987, Mat Tinley joined start up regional sports network Prime Ticket network (now Fox Sports West), where he worked daily with billionaire media legend Bill Daniels. Applying what he learned as management consultant at McKinsey and Company, Mat Tinley was responsible for developing strategic and implementation plans that enabled Prime Ticket to become the largest and most successful regional network of all time. Mat Tinley also negotiated key programming agreements, and structured strategic partnerships. Mat Tinley played a crucial role in the successful sale of Prime Ticket Network to Liberty Media Corporation for a record setting $220 million, specifically designing the structure that would increase the net gain realized to over $1 billion. Then, as a senior member of a small executive team, Mat Tinley helped to build Liberty Media Sports (now Fox Sports) into one of the two largest pay television sports programming companies in the world. Mat Tinley was responsible for both the US and International business as Executive Vice President of Liberty Sports (US) and Managing Director of Liberty Sports (International). During these years, Mat Tinley negotiated key programming and licensing agreements with over fifteen NBA and Major League Baseball teams as well as numerous amateur sports organizations. Mat Tinley also led teams that built the first international sports networks three continents: Asia, Australia, and Latin America. In Asia, Mat Tinley led a team that launched and built the first ever Pan Asian sports channel after negotiating an unprecedented partnership with K.S. Li. Mat Tinley also led a team that created and managed the first two Australian sports channels. In Latin America, Mat Tinley led a team that launched the first pan Latin American Sports channel. Also under the leadership of Mat Tinley, Liberty Sports became the largest distributor of international sports programming in the world. Mat Tinley also represented the worldwide media rights to some of biggest sports properties; some of these include the PGA Tour as well as most leading football (soccer) federations to various parts of the world. Liberty Sports sold to News Corporation for a gain of $1.9 billion. After the sale of Liberty Media Sport to News Corporation, Mat Tinley formed a partnership with media billionaire Bill Daniels to create a successful production and programming company. Mat Tinley built one of the leading boxing promotion and programming companies in the world, America Presents. Here, Mat Tinley promoted heavyweight champion Mike Tyson, and numerous other world champions. Mat Tinley promoted more than two hundred fifty hundred live and televised events Home Box Office, Inc. (HBO), ESPN, Fox, ABC, CBS and Showtime and produced some of entertainment’s highest grossing events and his was the only organization invited to testify before Senator John McCain’s committee on reform in professional boxing.
