Matt grew up in New York and later lived and worked in Europe as a jazz musician. In 1996 he came back to the US to attend Yale. After a brief stint with AsiaInfo in Beijing, he returned to Yale and graduated in 2001. He then moved to Silicon Valley and took a job with McKinsey & Company. After his time as a business analyst, he helped start-up LinkedIn and stayed with the company until 2005. He subsequently joined Facebook in 2005 as one of its first five employee hires and first external executive hire. In addition to his business work, Matt is on the board of Do Something.
