Matt Scelza has 15 years of nonprofit and leadership experience. After graduating with his B.A. and M.A. from Stanford University, Matt started working in Boston as an AmeriCorps/VISTA volunteer. He then taught for two years in the Bronx at an adult ESL program. Upon moving to California in 1998, Matt worked for one year for Dispute Resolution Services. He then started with California Literacy, Inc., a statewide nonprofit. In his five years with Cal Lit, Matt served as project director for two national demonstration grants and helped raise the funds to grow the staff from three to fourteen employees. For the last five years, Matt has raised money for Bet Tzedek Legal Services, first as Associate Development Director and now as Development Director.
