Matthew Cautero, UCLA Anderson School of Management, Graduate StudentLos Angeles, CaliforniaMatthew Cautero recently enrolled at the Anderson School of Management at the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA). Founded in the 1930s, the Anderson School of Management points to highly capable faculty and state-of-the-art facilities as components that make the institution a prestigious business school. Mr. Cautero continues his pursuit of financial expertise through his work in the Master of Business Administration (MBA) program at UCLA. Matthew Cautero holds membership in the Investment Finance Association (IFA) as part of his scholastic regimen. The group is a networking resource for Anderson students. As a member, Matthew Cautero gains access to over 300 current members and thousands of alumni, which enables him to communicate with various financial services organizations. Mr. Cautero is also a participant in a global equity research case competition at the school. Additionally, he received the honor of being chosen as one of only three 2011 Fink Center Investment Banking Fellows. Matthew Cautero began his collegiate education at Yale University in New Haven, Connecticut. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in History at the Ivy League school. During his undergraduate career, Matthew Cautero was a four-year member of the varsity football team. He also worked as a Laundry Services Management employee through the Yale Associated Student Agencies. After graduation from Yale, Matthew Cautero joined Lazard Freres & Co. as a Senior Analyst in a private fund advisory group. During his time at the New York company, Mr. Cautero accomplished many goals. He was instrumental in the growth of a proprietary fundraising database, which resulted in a 20 percent increase in new client meetings. Matthew Cautero also gave advice to private equity sponsors on fund positioning in relation to competitors and strategies for raising overall capital. Among other accomplishments, Mr. Cautero assisted senior team members in the management of over $10 billion in private equity fundraising mandates. In 2009, Matthew Cautero became an Investment Associate for Private Equity and Absolute Return at the University of Pennsylvania. Located in Philadelphia, the prestigious institution relied on Mr. Cautero to analyze the performance of its endowment’s funds and portfolio holdings. Through the design and implementation of quantitative models, Matthew Cautero ably fulfilled his responsibilities. After two years with the University, he decided to continue his education at UCLA.
