As a Data Systems Architect for Eaton Corporation since 2009, Matthew Schnierle provides project management for strategic infrastructure plays and acquisition integration, as well as IT architecture, engineering, and implementation for all aspects of the Fortune 500 company’s projects related to network, telephony, and application. Matthew Schnierle’s contributions to the company in leveraging emerging technologies have yielded millions in annual cost-out savings. Joining Eaton Corporation in 2003 as Senior Network Engineer in Diversified Management, Matthew Schnierle held worldwide responsibilities for the LAN/WAN/Convergence network and system engineering. Matthew Schnierle’s work included the engineering, implementation, and operation of frame, ATM, MPLS, commodity Internet, VPN, and telephony infrastructure. Significant achievements included Matthew Schnierle’s successful migration of the network from frame-relay and ATM to MLPS, as well as the management of a converged voice over IP rollout, which netted the company an annual $3 million in savings. In addition, Matthew Schnierle integrated the data and voice networks of the company’s acquired properties, worth nearly $2 billion. In 2008, Eaton Corporation promoted Matthew Schnierle to the position of Data Center Engineering Lead for the company’s data centers in Cleveland, Amsterdam, and Singapore. With oversight of all data communications, telecommunications, network engineering, architecture, and implementation, Matthew Schnierle succeeded at replacing the core network components of a synchronously replicated data center pair with no downtime; his system remained up 99.999% of the time. Earlier in his career, Matthew Schnierle was engaged in IT consulting with Fortune 1000 companies, with a focus on IT infrastructure. Some of Matthew Schnierle’s major projects included a five-continent VPN solution for a large mobile systems operator; commodity Internet engineering and operations; the architecture and implementation of systems/storage/load balancing solutions for a web-based enterprise application suite; and the implementation of a VOIP system spanning across multiple locations. In addition, Matthew Schnierle managed the engineering for and monitored the implementation of all these projects to completion. Before this period, Matthew Schnierle served as a Senior Network Engineer for Stargate industries (now dba Expedient Communications). Matthew Schnierle attended Indiana University of Pennsylvania. Matthew Schnierle balances his work life with reading the latest thrillers by Tom Clancy, Robert Ludlum, and others; participating in sports; and supporting nonprofit organizations in his community.
