Max Bruner worked extensively on the 2004 presidential campaign and subsequently assisted in the development of a national student think tank, the Roosevelt Institution; establishing an active branch in Wisconsin, where students assist the legislature in policy research and development. He has conducted comprehensive research on alternative energy policy while working in the office of a Wisconsin state senator and with the Roosevelt Institution. He has an academic and career focus on both domestic energy policy and U.S. foreign policy. Max has studied Arabic for two years, one of which was spent in the Middle East at the American University in Cairo researching the rule of law in Egypt and the politics of the greater region. He completed a senior honors thesis on historical state formation and northern based political elite in Sudan and he graduated in May 2008. Max currently works as a researcher on energy and security issues in the Africa Program of the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) in Washington, DC. He is also in the process of building the Globalist Review, a foreign policy, and global culture forum and network. In September he will travel to Doha, Qatar until June for an intensive Arabic program.
