In 1964, Max Ehinger came to the United States without a cent in his pocket, and today he owns Marc Joseph Hair Design, a successful salon in Los Altos, California. For more than 40 years, Max Ehinger has served as a stylist at his salon, and in 2009, he moved his business to the chic downtown area of Los Altos. One of his interests is investing in the stock market, and he was successful enough in this venture to buy a home in the Los Altos hills and to purchase 52 apartment units that he managed until 2004.

In addition to researching the stock market, Max Ehinger also likes to paint, and he recently took up porcelain painting. An avid reader, Max Ehinger usually chooses the classics. He also likes to bicycle and ski; he fondly remembers skiing in his home country of Switzerland and at the age of 14, he bicycled across the Gotthard Pass, which divides Switzerland and Italy. He likes to see movies of all genres and also works in his garden. An enthusiastic football fan, Max Ehinger remembers the first game he attended in Houston, Texas. He was new to the sport and did not understand what a touchdown was; he sat still while the entire stadium stood and cheered. A world traveler, Max Ehinger has visited many European countries as well as Croatia, Greece, Russia, Turkey, and Mexico. He plans to retire in Italy, probably on the lovely Lake Como.

Max Ehinger belongs to the Peninsula Swiss Club, an organization founded in 1961 that strives to promote Swiss traditions and offers social gatherings for those born in Switzerland and their friends. He also holds membership in the Syndicate Coiffure du Monde and served as Treasurer and President of the Rancho Merchants Association in Los Altos for four years.
